Fomo Dojo is a private, invitation-only app for seeing which cities your friends are in. This page explains exactly what it stores, who can see it, and how to remove it. It describes the app as it actually works today.
The short version
The app does not track your location. It has no access to your device's location and never asks for it. Everywhere you appear in the app is somewhere you typed in and chose from a list.
What we store
- Your phone number. It is how you sign in and how the app knows who you are.
- Your name, as you enter it.
- Your home city — the name you chose, plus the approximate centre point of that city.
- Trips you add — a city and the dates you'll be there.
- Who you're connected to, invitations you send, and anyone you've muted or blocked.
- Notes you leave about a city, if you use that feature.
- Your settings, such as notification preferences.
About those city coordinates
When you pick a city we store that city's centre point alongside its name — the same point for everyone who picks it, and not your position. It is there so that cities sharing a name are not mistaken for one another.
Who can see it
- People you are connected to can see your name, your home city, your trips and your status.
- Nobody else can. People you are not connected to cannot see your profile or your travel.
- You can set yourself to Vanished at any time, which hides your whereabouts from everyone while leaving your account intact.
- Blocking someone removes the connection and stops them reaching you.
Services we rely on
- Supabase — hosts the database and handles sign-in.
- Twilio — delivers the verification code by SMS. Your number is shared with Twilio only for that purpose.
- Mapbox — provides the map and the city search.
- Apple — distributes the app through TestFlight during the beta.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
Deleting your account
Me → Delete account removes your profile and everything attached to it: your trips, connections, invitations, notes, mutes and blocks. This cannot be undone.
Being straight about a current limitation: deleting from within the app removes your profile and all of your content, but the underlying sign-in record — the phone number held by our authentication provider — is not yet removed automatically. Email the address below and we will delete it by hand. We are building the automatic path.
Children
Fomo Dojo is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
